Day 30, 30 paintings in 30 days.
I did it! I painted 30 paintings in 30 days!
I want to be ecstatic. But first I’m weary. I’ll have to celebrate my accomplishment tomorrow. (Is this what they mean by “delayed gratification?”)
I’m also a little frustrated, because I wanted to really like my painting for today, and instead I feel lukewarm about it. Maybe (hopefully) you won’t be such a harsh critic as I am.
So between wanting feelings I can’t muster, and trying to deny the feelings I’m having, I think it’s best for me to post the picture and go read a book—something that always helps bring me back to equilibrium.
I’ll reflect on this past month’s process a little later, when I have some clarity. I will say, though, that I’m impressed with myself. Thirty paintings is more than I’ve ever painted in my life! It’s kinda cool.
Two more items to add:
- I’m having a private art show at my house in a couple weeks, in celebration of finishing this challenge. If you’re going to be around and would like to be invited, let me know. These paintings will be for sale.
- February starts Letter Writing month, which I’ve participated in the past few years. If you’d like a letter, send me your mailing address.
Side note: This last painting (and yesterday’s) are in honor and preparation of the upcoming Letter Writing month.
P.S. One of my goals for the new year is to paint in January. My theme for all the paintings is “writing”.
