25/30 January Painting | “Book Stacks”

By | January 25, 2017

Day 25, 30 paintings in 30 days.

Whew! Why did I decide this was a good idea??

A two-day painting. So saying this is painting #25 is misleading, although I would love to count them as 2… For the purpose of keeping the number the same as the date, I’m going to go with it. But I will admit to those of you who follow me closely that now I have one less painting than days of the challenge. This is Painting Number 24 all over again, except this time it’s finished.

I got bored a couple times with the tedium of all the books (even though I love books!), so I jumped around a little bit. Curious what order someone else would have taken with painting something like this.

Enjoy seeing the process pictures and the final result!

I painted the background first: the wooden windowsill, bookshelf, walls, and windows.

P.S. One of my goals for the new year is to paint in January. My theme for all the paintings is “writing”.
