After watching the ocean waves on this rainy Sunday,

I drove to a local coffee shop to test out my new computer and drink an unsweetened brewed Masala Chai Tea Latte.

TravelingEv Now

I haven’t had my own reliable working laptop for over two years. Decided it’s time to get one. Now I’m going through the very real struggle of finding my install files for all of my applications and re-installing and activating them all.

*Note: I’m going to turn some of this post into a “now” page. See examples here.

Also, as I foreshadowed above, I am focused on my health right now, and boosting my immune system. Specifically, I’m on a restricted diet for a few months—I’ve cut out sugar, refined carbs, and coffee. Did you know that most soups in a can have sugar in them? What about hot dogs? Not that I eat those things that often anyway, but I went camping recently and tried to bring some basic, easy camping foods. Wasn’t easy. I made bush pasty instead. (potatoes, onions, carrots, ground beef, wrapped in aluminum foil and cooked in the fire.)

Exercising some. Working up to exercising more. My goal is to be able to do an entire Insanity workout from start to finish without skipping any of it, by January 1st. With my increased strength and stamina, I’m planning to enjoy a few snowboarding days on the slopes of Tahoe this winter.

Working at a graduate school in California as my full-time job. Same place I’ve been at for the past 3 years. Actually, my three-year anniversary is officially coming up in about 2 weeks. I’ve touched a lot of websites for this job, some just giving advice, and some I’ve completely designed/redesigned on my own. (See the DLC blog, see MiddCreate, see the community blogging landing page.) Almost two years into my 5-year plan. Learning how to live in one place for an “extended” period of time. It’s all relative, isn’t it?

Loving my apartment. Growing some basil and cilantro, and ivy and spider plants and succulents. Sometimes they die, but mostly they are staying healthy and green.

Building my side business and starting to make an income off of it. Slow and steady. Clients seem happy so far! See my new coaching page here for my most recent offerings. Coming up with ideas on how to make it better, more dynamic, easily accessible. As I said, slow and steady.

Still salsa dancing, but not as much as I once was. It’s hard when your salsa friends keep graduating from school and leaving you so they can do great things in the world. Looking for a new, reliable group of salsa buddies.

Dating. It’s going great. I try to leave him out of the blog and the social media spotlight, but wanted to acknowledge his presence in my life.

Thinking ahead to November and my upcoming novel. Going to re-write the novel I’m currently editing. One day I hope you will read the final published version. If you’re brave, offer to read my draft and give me feedback. Still needs a lot of work, but I need to get over myself and start soliciting advice on it.

Driving a boring reliable car, the color is called “Desert Sand.” Thought I didn’t care what my car looked like. Turns out I do.

Meeting in a weekly mastermind, which has been going for a year and a half. Love my accountability/encouragement/fellow entrepreneur/ partners and friends!

Have had a couple visitors to see me, and have gone to see a couple friends. Planning a trip to Cameroon to see a friend who is there in the Peace Corps, and trying to decide if I want to go to North Dakota to spend Christmas with my brother and his family.

Feeling optimistic about my future, and grateful for all that is going well in my life, because there is certainly a lot! I feel so much love around me and am thankful for all the life lessons I’ve gotten to experience so far!
