Last year and the year before and the year before that, I wrote a novel in November. Why November? Because that is National Novel Writing Month, and is when 100′s of 1,000′s of other people are also writing novels.
Wish me luck. I’m off to start writing.

Good luck! Have an outline yet?
Not an outline, per se, but a decent idea of what I’ll be writing about. We’ll see how it turns out. I don’t like to talk about my novel idea too early, in case I end up jinxing myself.
