Are Peace Corps volunteers just a bunch of “hippie freaks?”
I should just stop there, give you the link, and let your curious mind figure the rest out on your own.
But I really want to explain. (Not the picture. Just the question. Well, I can’t really explain the question, either. But I can tell you where it came from.)
There’s this website called Jobstr where you can ask people anything about their jobs. Current jobs on the site include: freelance writer, wedding planner, nightclub promoter, teacher, gentleman’s club manager, flight attendant and on and on.
You sign up and you can ask questions to any of these people. You can also sign up to answer questions about your own job.
That’s where I come in. I signed up to answer questions about being a Peace Corps volunteer.
And the questions started pouring in.
How did you communicate with the college students at first if you didn’t speak Armenian til you arrived?
Do you get lonely there being so far away from home?
Was there ever a point in your PC time where you seriously considered quitting?
After you’re done w/PC, could you ever see yourself going “back on the grid” with a normal, 9-to-5 desk job?
I think it’s a really cool site. You should totally check it out. See the answers I gave to the above questions and more. Find out about other jobs you’ve always been curious about. There are a lot of jobs already there, but the gamut is far from covered. That’s where you come in.
Sign up to host your own job Q&A. Leave a link in the comments to your job for me and others to see. I’ll ask a question, if you leave your link in the comments.
Give it a shot. I think you’ll find it very interesting. I know that I would love to know more about your job.
