Usually when I think of Thanksgiving, I think of things I am thankful for. This year, instead of focusing on the material question, I decided to come up with a list of:
Reasons WHY I Am Thankful.
- There are people who love me. Thanks. You mean the world to me.
- I am stretching my comfort zone, leading a stimulating life, and learning who I am.
- I like who I’m becoming.
- I have potential to do great things and I’m still young enough to do them.

I can do anything, include represent the south by wearing a Waffle House t-shirt in Armenia. (Does this mean the world is my bowl of grits???)
- I’m an American. After living in another culture, I am more thankful than ever that I grew up in an American culture.
- I am serving Peace Corps Armenia. I am so glad I can take my skills and help others who just need some guidance on how to move forward.
- I have many remarkable new friends who I can talk to about anything and they understand what I’m going through. Without them, this experience would be much more difficult and lonely.
- I have a computer, Internet connection, and can type fast. Without the three together, I wouldn’t be able to keep in touch with you, my reader.
- You read my blog. Thanks so much!
- I like to read, too.
- Even though I won’t be eating Thanksgiving Dinner today, we will be having a small volunteer gathering and feast this coming Sunday!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, everybody!
Why are you thankful? Please share.

Hi Ev, Love reading all your blog entries. Quite interesting and you write so well!
Or you have been so busy trying to figure out what to do with all that spare time on your hands. Oh!
Wish I had all your spare time. This way you would get home sooner and I would get more done here – Hee! Hee!
Can you email me your mailing address please? I’m sure you probably have my email address: apcinc2008@hotmail.com
Then I can send you a package from Alaska. Hmm …? What should I send to Ev? Guess it will have to be a surprise
I haven’t heard from you in ages and ages. Guess you forgot about me
Sitka had an all time record snowfall for this November! 32.7 inches. All in one week! Record was 30.4 inches for Nov. 1990. And it was a lot of snow around the lodge and on the decks and falling off the roof with BIG Thumps! We would have to watch out to make sure we did not get nailed when it fell off the roof!!! So I can relate to the cold and your snow stories. Sorry to hear it is not that warm there for you in your room. I bought a really nice BioSmart Heater on wheels for the office. Makes life easier here in the office during the colder evenings. Time for bed for me. Would love to hear from you – Miss you for many reasons…,
